Public First Aid Response Course Begins on 7th January 2019 in Glanmire

St John Ambulance Glanmire is pleased to announce that a PHECC certified First Aid Response (FAR) course will begin on Monday 7th January 2019, running for 6 weeks on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

The First Aid Response (FAR) standard replaces the former Occupational First Aid (OFA) standard and is approved by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) for first aiders in the workplace.

The course will be held at the St John Ambulance Glanmire Training Centre, Unit 5D Glanmire Industrial Estate, Sallybrook, Glanmire, Co Cork.

Topics covered include;

• Introduction to first aid
• Treatment of wounds/bleeding
• Sprains and Strains
• Fractures
• Medical Emergencies including heart attack, stroke, seizures and asthma
• CPR and AED for adult, paediatric and infant
• Choking in adult, paediatric and infant

The cost of this course is €150.
