This morning our volunteers attended Fingal Community College in Swords, our members met with the students and showed them some lifesaving skills.
Today we covered a cycle race in memory of Kevin King. Drogheda Wheelers cycling club hold the event each year. This year the proceeds will be shared between Drogheda and District Support 4 Older People and St. John Ambulance Drogheda . Well done to all who took part, and to Drogheda Gardai for there assistance ..
Teamwork and Communication was the theme of our regular weekly training session on Friday 23rd Sept 2016. We got underneath the serious aspect the session title by doing a number of fun team building exercises. (click link above for some photos). In the coming week, Raheny Division members will be supporting duties that include Motocross in Clontarf, Dublin Zoo and Croke Park for the All Ireland replay between Dublin & Mayo.
While many members were celebrating the wide variety of State-Funded & Voluntary ‘blue light’ services at FESSEF 2016 yesterday, the newest vehicle in the St John Ambulance Ireland fleet – SJ63 – was covering her first duty in Cork.
A 5 kilometre ocean race almost had a tragic outcome when a male swimmer was struck by hypothermia. He became unresponsive and was rescued from the water by Kinsale RNLI. After a succinct handover, the patient was stabilised on site by EMTs Sean & Barry.… Continue reading
