Our organisation is run by unpaid volunteers at all levels up to and including the Commissioner, who has the unpaid role of Chief Executive Officer.
Governance is provided by a Council, also made up of unpaid volunteers. We also have a small office staff of one full time and two-part time personnel who are paid at the equivalent level of Health Service personnel of similar responsibility, without any additional benefits.
We receive no State funding and are entirely dependent on contributions from the public and donations made to the Organisation for services rendered by our volunteer members.
Having provided assistance to sick and injured members of the public for the past 110 years, we rely on your continued support for our existence.
We sincerely hope that our work will not be compromised by a reduction in charitable donations.
