Even without spectators, events are going ahead across the country and St John Ambulance volunteers are out there providing pre-hospital care. While events may be different, the level of care remains the same.
Continue readingSt John Ambulance Glanmire is pleased to announce that a PHECC certified First Aid Response (FAR) course will begin on Monday 7th January 2019, running for 6 weeks on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
The First Aid Response (FAR) standard replaces the former Occupational First Aid (OFA) standard and is approved by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) for first aiders in the workplace.
The course will be held at the St John Ambulance Glanmire Training Centre, Unit 5D Glanmire Industrial Estate, Sallybrook, Glanmire, Co Cork.

St John Ambulance Glanmire was delighted to recently receive a donation from PepsiCo Little Island, Cork that enabled the purchase of additional CPR training manikins. These manikins will be used to train members of the public in the local area in lifesaving skills, in line with St John Ambulance’s goal that “No one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.“
Gobnait Dempsey, PepsiCo HR, is seen presenting a “Little Junior” CPR training manikin to Gerard Doyle, Paramedic & Superintendent of St John Ambulance Glanmire.

St John Ambulance Glanmire, in association with the National Ambulance Service (NAS) and CFR Ireland, will host an information evening at its Divisional Headquarters Unit 5D, Glanmire Industrial Estate, Sallybrook, Glanmire T45 DY62 on Tuesday 17th April at 7pm.
The information session is intended to inform members of the local community about the establishment of a Community First Responder group in Glanmire, linked to the National Ambulance Service.
